When "Oz the Great and Powerful" became a massive hit this past spring, one of the biggest surprises that came out the Sam Raimi film was Mila Kunis' stunning transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West. The normally beautiful starlet became a grotesquely green hag before our very eyes, and it was hard to believe that underneath the complex makeup, it was still Kunis.

Now that "Oz the Great and Powerful" is heading to Blu-ray and DVD, we're being treated to a host of behind-the-scenes featurettes that explain how the special-effects wizard brought the newly reinvented world of Oz to the big screen, including this exclusive look at the creation of Kunis' wicked makeover.

The featurette walks us through Kunis' entire transformation at the hands of makeup wiz and Academy Award nominee Howard Berger, who spoke with us in March during the film's original release about the witch-ifying process. Berger worked closely with his partner and "Walking Dead" zombie creator Greg Nicotero to create the look for Kunis.

"Greg and I did designs that were very, very subtle, all the way to very extreme," Berger said. "I took the designs to set one day, and I laid them out in front of Sam and Mila. To my surprise, Mila picked the most extensive, the real wicked, wicked witch, and so did Sam."

The entire application process surprisingly took only an hour and a half and was geared toward maintaining Kunis' personality through the layers of foam rubber. "I wanted to keep it very sleek, very clean," Berger said. "There is no texture, no warts. Her eyebrows are very manicured. I wanted to keep her very classic."

"Oz the Great and Powerful" comes to Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday.
