The results of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards proved that strength lies in numbers, especially when you consider that among the winners were six of Earth's mightiest heroes. "Marvel's the Avengers" owned the night, taking home Best Fight, Best Villain, and Movie of the Year, which all seemed appropriate given there simply was no bigger movie last year.

Once all of your votes were finally tallied, there was simply no stopping the team of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow. Their epic battle against the invading aliens took up the last third of the film and featured some of the year's best movie moments. (Where else could you see the Hulk smash like that?)

Stars Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston and director Joss Whedon took to the Sony Studios stage on Sunday night (April 14) to accept the Golden Popcorn for Best Fight. "I just want to say, I'm happy to be Hulk-smashed any day of the week," Hiddleston said.

Loki would return to the stage not long after the movie's first win to collect his Golden Popcorn for Best Villain and, once on the mike, Hiddleston thanked the Avengers team that beat him so badly. But he also took a moment to thank One Direction's Liam Payne for naming his dog "Loki." "Liam's dog, Loki, is unquestionably better looking, certainly better bred and probably better known. He's probably got more Twitter followers than I do. So they don't know Liam's dog in Asgard, but it's all about spreading the love."

There was only one other place to go from there: Movie of the Year glory. When it was time to present the final award of the night, "Marvel's the Avengers" was riding high, but the comic book flick would soar even higher. Joss Whedon did the honors of delivering an acceptance speech and continuing the trend of shouting out teen heartthrobs. "We are humbled to be standing here," he said. "No, we're not humbled. We won. What's the opposite of 'humbled'? We're 'Biebered' to be standing here. Whedon finished by thanking the fans (especially the ones directly behind him) and shared his excitement for 2015, when "Avengers 2" will hit theaters.
