On Thursday, Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy and director Paul Feig joined MTV's Josh Horowitz for Sneak Peek Week with an advance screening of their new comedy "The Heat." As the clock ticks down to the start of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, McCarthy turns up again to unveil a clip from the film that you can only see right here.
McCarthy mentioned the scene during her exclusive chat with MTV News, but now fans get a chance to watch it unfold for themselves: After a stern and sincere warning from her onscreen partner, played by Sandra Bullock, McCarthy tries to resist throwing the book at a perp — literally — as the duo interrogates a suspect.
Reuniting McCarthy with Feig for the first time since their successful collaboration on "Bridesmaids," the comedienne plays a no-nonsense cop who teams up with an uptight FBI agent, played by Bullock. The two loners are forced to work together to bring down a ruthless drug lord, learning a little bit about themselves even as they forge an unlikely partnership.
McCarthy is but one of the Hollywood stars that fans will see on the red carpet — and later, onstage — at the MTV Movie Awards. Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt are also scheduled to make appearances. Who will take home the evening's top prizes? You can help decide — voting stays open until the last moment at the MTV Movie Awards, including such hotly contested categories as Best Shirtless Performance, Best Duo and Best Scared-as-S**t Performance. After voting, make sure you tune in to see who wins. The show begins tonight at 9 p.m.
