Paramore have made it clear that they're going for broke on their upcoming self-titled album calling it the beginning of a "new journey" and a musical movement ... and now, they're giving fans a taste of what they can expect from this bold new reinvention.
The band just posted a teaser clip of their comeback single, "Now," and, well, let's just say the title fits: rolling along on a rousing drum line, and featuring surging, spiraling guitars and frontwoman Hayley Williams' epic shouts, the song is an urgent call to arms, one that proves though they may have lost a few members, Paramore most certainly haven't lost a step.
"Now" is set to hit iTunes on January 22, and, according to a spokesperson for their labels, Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen, Paramore will shoot a video for the song later this month in Los Angeles. Their self-titled album — produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen — is due on April 9, though if that date seems impossibly far off, fret not: in the brand-new teaser, fans can also catch a glimpse at the making of the album (there will apparently be keyboards this time out), including footage of the band jamming with Johnsen, shooting hoops and recording group vocals and strings.
Paramore is the follow-up to the band's 2009 album Brand New Eyes, and the first since the rather acrimonoious departure of longtime members Josh and Zac Farro.
