Ever wonder what it would sound like if "The Voice" coach and cat fancier Cee Lo Green hooked up with Rod Stewart for a holiday classic? How about Mean Green sharing a mic with the Muppets? Well, dream no more, because all that and more is on tap for the Goodie Mob member's first-ever holiday album, CeeLo's Magic Moment.
The 14-track disc, due out on October 30, will find Green hooking up with his "Voice" cohort Christina Aguilera for the Christmas classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside," as well as rock icon Stewart for "Merry Christmas, Baby." The Muppets show up for the original tune "All I Need Is Love" and a cappella group Straight No Chaser pitch in on "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch." Rapper B.o.B. is listed as a contributor, but at press time it was not announced what song he appears on.
Promising a "soulful" take on holiday classics, the album will also feature Cee Lo'd versions of "This Christmas," "The Christmas Song," "White Christmas," "Please Come Home For Christmas," "Run Rudolph Run," "All I Want For Christmas" and "Silent Night." Other tracks include "What Christmas Means To Me," "Mary, Did You Know?" and "River."
Stewart and the Muppets will join Green on October 10 for a special performance entitled "CeeLo and Friends" at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The show will be filmed and then premiere on November 26 on the Warner Music Group's YouTube channel.
It was announced last week that Green would be taking a leave from "The Voice" in the upcoming fourth season to work on his Las Vegas "Loberace" residency, which will kick off in early 2013, as well as an NBC sitcom loosely based on his life.
