Which big-name artists will appear on French Montana's debut LP, you ask?
"Got everybody on the album," French said when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "You name 'em, they're on the album.
Aside from Diddy, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., Montana also linked up with Toronto's newest rising star for his upcoming Excuse My French.
"One person I was really excited to work with was the Weeknd — he on the album too," French revealed to "RapFix" host Sway Calloway.
Montana and the OVOXO singer titled the track "Lifted," and it was a true collaboration that they built from scratch. "He wrote the hook, but you know, he take two weeks to write a song so it could be perfect," the Bad Boy rapper said. "He kinda, like, don't work with nobody, so I was excited to work with him."
In addition to the Weeknd, French also has a song with Max B, his currently incarcerated running mate who was sentenced to 75 years on murder and conspiracy charges back in 2009. "We used to do so much music. There were these records that I put to the side, that I knew they were gonna be something," he explained. "I knew this time was gonna come when those records were going to count."
That's not all: French also got his Bad Boy boss Diddy to contribute the long player's intro. Even former Bad Boy recording artist and sometimes-minster Ma$e joined in on the action. "He just blessed the album. I needed his blessings on the album," French said, laughing.
For his first major-label shot, French wanted to do the unexpected. "Everybody expects the single to be me, Wayne, Ross," he said, noting that he does have collaborations with them, but other stuff in store as well. "I just want to do something different for my next joint."
