Kristen Stewart has had a very big year. The 22-year-old has taken full advantage of the "Twilight" franchise's mega-success by springboarding into several other challenging and diverse roles in films this year.
First, there was "Snow White and the Huntsman," which deftly toppled its box-office competition earlier this summer. That will be followed by the conclusion to "Twilight," "Breaking Dawn - Part 2." And finally, there's her film-fest-supported turn in the big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road."
While we're excited to see those next two films, we can't help but wonder what else Stewart has in the works, so when MTV News caught up with her at the Toronto International Film Festival, we asked for an update on her future film slate.
"I don't know yet," she admitted. "I know it's weird to skirt subjects, but I think it's been said on the Internet that I'm doing "Lie Down in Darkness"; it's not happening yet. I don't know when they're [going to officially green-light the film]. I love that thing, I would do anything to get that to go, but it's just not yet. Hopefully it does, but other than that, nothing."
Stewart said that for the first time in a long time, she has some room to relax and take her time in choosing her next project.
"It's been a little while since I haven't had stuff mapped out, so it's nice," she said. "I'm in a good place to choose."
In addition to "Lie Down in Darkness," a story that revolves around a dysfunctional southern family in the 1950s and is based on William Styron's 1951 novel of the same name, there is also talk of a sequel to "Snow White."
