Joining Mos Def as a new castmember is Colin Hanks, the eldest of award-winning actor Tom Hanks' sons. Colin joins "Dexter" playing a potential arch-nemesis of the blood-splatter expert.
Mos Def has been acting since the age of 14 and has achieved success in both music and film, joining the very small handful of rappers who have gone on to receive critical acclaim as actors. And Mos is still active on the music front with one-off performances and the like; his last studio effort, Ecstatic, was released in 2009.
The Black Star alum has appeared in several notable films, including HBO's "Something the Lord Made," which earned the dapper rapper a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for his role as surgical technician Vivien Thomas. Mos also appeared in such films as "Monster's Ball" and "Be Kind Rewind," and on TV in guest spots on "My Wife and Kids" and "House."
