Given that none of their teams are actually playing in Sunday's Super Bowl XLV, you'd think that the guys from MTV's "Jersey Shore" might not actually care about the big game, which pits the Green Bay Packers against the Pittsburgh Steelers. But you'd be wrong. They're all red-blooded Americans, after all.

And, like many other red-blooded Americans, they're basing their Super Bowl picks on one thing only: pure spite.

"I'm gonna go with the Packers, because Pittsburgh beat the Jets," Vinny explained. "So Packers all the way."

"Same here," Pauly D added. "I'm a Patriots fan."

Just in case you weren't up on these things, the Steelers knocked off the New York Jets in a tightly contested AFC Championship matchup on January 23. And Pittsburgh also counts among its biggest rivals the New England Patriots, perennial powerhouses of the conference.

But not all of the "Jersey Shore" guys were relying on hurt feelings to make their predictions. Take, for example, the Situation, who relied on Vegas oddsmakers for his pick ... sort of.

"You know what? I think I'm going for the underdog, Packers," he said. "I like the underdog, and I think it's going to be a great game. I'm going to be down there, I'm actually going to be at the game, so I'm excited."

The Sitch probably doesn't realize that the Packers are actually three-point favorites in the game, though perhaps he meant "sentimental underdogs." Regardless, he's pumped for the game. Super Bowl XLV kicks off Sunday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox.

Don't miss "Jersey Shore," airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
