It only took one episode of "Glee" for Darren Criss to become an instant fan favorite and potential full-time castmember, but he finally got to live his teenage dream Monday night at the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" red-carpet premiere in New York.

Before he ever was involved in "Glee," Criss had achieved viral fame for the YouTube video he put together with his friends, "A Very Potter Musical." The fan musical has garnered more than 3 million views since it was posted in 2009 and is one of the more beloved "Potter" parodies.

"A lot of people who know me as Harry, it's kind of weird, because I'm not Harry Potter," Criss told MTV News.

The premiere was the first time Criss had been in the presence of the actual Harry Potter, Dan Radcliffe. "This is the closest I've ever been to anybody from the films and probably the closest I will ever get," Criss joked.

After Criss acted out his hypothetical first interaction with Radcliffe (hint: it involved a lot of screaming), MTV News' Josh Horowitz brought up the fact that Radcliffe is now set to star in his own Broadway musical, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," and his newfound musical talents could make him perfect for a guest spot on "Glee."

"For the sheer novelty of it, for the fans who are 'Glee' fans and 'Harry Potter' fans," Criss said, agreeing to the idea. "I think if they saw Dan and I do a number, I think ears would bleed."

Criss said he was most excited by the fact that he was even on the red carpet at all. "I'm just a huge fan," he said. "All these fans outside, I should be out there. This is just a terrible mix-up. There's been some terrible mistake."
