Following the success of last year's The E.N.D., the Black Eyed Peas are set to splash back onto the scene with their appropriately titled new album, The Beginning. BEP frontman will.i.am took to his blog on Thursday (October 21) to reveal that the group's first single is entitled "The Time (the Dirty Bit)," and he previewed the track's artwork.
"I am so excited about our new album ... the album comes out Nov. 30th ... the album is called "THE BEGINNING," he wrote on his DipDive.com blog. "The first single is called "THE TIME (the dirty bit) ... we secretly shot our first video in L.A. last week before we left on our South American tour ..."
Describing The Beginning as a "departure to the new," will.i.am said that the band is always aiming at pushing the boundaries when it comes to their sound and technology. "I can't wait till you experience all that we have been cooking up," he wrote, before posting the single's artwork, which depicts a square-shaped watch and the group's new logo.
"The Time" has yet to hit radio airwaves, but a low-quality clip has surfaced on YouTube, which is rumored to be a preview of the track. The snippet, which appears to be recorded in a club, samples the "Dirty Dancing" theme song "(I've Had) the Time of My Life."
Will teased fans about the single's release, tweeting, "Who wants me to drop the new Black Eyed Peas single off The Beginning earlier than we should???"
Earlier this month, the hit-maker spoke about the follow-up to last year's The E.N.D., revealing that he produced three tracks off the 12-song set. Dance producer David Guetta also helped out by producing two cuts for The Beginning, while the relatively unknown Damien "DJ Ammo" LeRoy helped out on four other songs.
