Lauren Conrad is ready to document the launch of her new higher-end fashion line on her new MTV reality show. With both projects in their planning stages, LC is enjoying the calm before the storm.

"Well, we're in the very beginning process," she told MTV News on Tuesday of her two latest endeavors. "We just submitted all of our tech packs for samples, so very early stages."

Just because things seem laid back now doesn't mean Conrad isn't bracing herself for the more high-impact stages of getting the line off the ground.

"It will get stressful after this, when you're dealing with deadlines, and you're dealing with production and the possibility of a fashion show," she explained. "That's kind of when all the stress comes in. So, right now we're just picking colors and doing samples."

As LC has previously shared, she's gotten help from some old friends for the line: Maura, her roommate, and Gary, who fans might remember from his time on MTV's short-lived reality series "Styl'D."

"We haven't started filming yet, so stay tuned!" she said. "But my roommate and one of my best friends is running the company, the business end, and another one of my good friends, Gary, is doing kind of the creative direction."

LC previously designed a line for Kohl's, which she made sure was accessible for that particular demographic.

"I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket, and all those pieces can be traded throughout ... It's a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage."
