"Hills" star Audrina Patridge admits that nobody was sure who would be going home in the hours leading up to Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars" results show, which ended with the star-studded cast bidding a fond farewell to David Hasselhoff.
"You don't really know who's going," she told MTV News. "Everybody was kind of on edge.
"Everyone had so much potential," she continued. "We didn't know who was going. We all see each other every day in the studio, and you all become friends. I thought [David] was very entertaining. I thought he did really good. It's really important for everyone to vote and support who they love."
Patridge was the first to hit the dance floor this season and despite bringing some keen dancing skills to the competition, she only scored a 19 after her cha-cha on Monday night. She admits to thinking that the judges might not have been sure what was coming after her performance.
"It was because they didn't really know what to expect from everyone, so we were the first ones out there setting the standards. But it was so much fun," she said. "It was nerve-racking being the first ones out. It was so much fun. Now, I'm more comfortable with the setting and being on set and the live audience. I think it was a good thing, 'cause we went first and got it out of the way and got to relax."
While she didn't get the boot this week, her partner Tony Dovolani did give her some advice to deal with the weekly elimination-episode stress. "It's something that's going to be every Tuesday night, all that anticipation and the stress of knowing and not knowing," she said. "Tony told me last night if we get voted off it's meant to be."
But she's excited to compete on next week's show, and to tackle the fast-paced dance known as the quickstep.
"I'm feeling relieved and happy and I can't wait to get back into the studio today and start learning the quickstep," she said. "Tony showed me some of the steps last week. Now we're really going to work hard and focus on that dance only.
"It's very different than the cha-cha," she continued. "The quickstep is very fast. It's challenging in a different way."
