Levi Johnston is back on the market after his split from on-again, off-again fiancée and mother of his son Bristol Palin, but the Alaskan native isn't letting the breakup get him down. Johnston is currently shopping around a reality show that will focus on his run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska — the job once held by Bristol's mother, Sarah Palin.
Variety reports that "Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office" will center on Johnston as he balances his life in the spotlight, both in Hollywood and during his run for office, and being a father to Tripp. The show's pilot is currently being shot with production house Stone and Co. and is being shopped to networks.
"He will give us a real inside look into who he is as a father, a skilled hunter, an avid dirt biker and his journey down the road of small-town politics ... right after he gets his high school diploma," Stone and Co. said about the show.
If anyone is wondering why the show will focus on Johnston as he runs for mayor, it wasn't his idea. In fact, he initially wasn't even sure if it was a good idea. "But the more I think about it and look into it, I think there's a possibility we can make it happen," Johnston said of his political prospects. "It's something that I want to do."
Aside from the show's somewhat contrived concept, Johnston, who has said he's "half redneck, half Hollywood," hopes that fans and critics will watch the show and learn what he is really like.
"It's hard to figure me out," he said. "You've got to follow me around. I'm very different. I lead a crazy life. But it will basically be both worlds, my life in Hollywood and back home, the real country boy that I am."
