After "The Hills" officially closed shop on Tuesday night, Lauren Conrad stopped by the aftershow to say farewell to the series that helped launch her career. And while fans may have been disappointed that she didn't appear in the last episode, LC was just happy to be a part of the finale even in this capacity.

"Well, I didn't know I would be invited, because I had already left! I wasn't sure I was going to go," Conrad told MTV News. "I came for [show creator] Adam DiVello. I couldn't tell him no!"

Lauren said that leaving "The Hills" a year ago "was really hard and really sad," but now, while the rest of the cast goes through their own separation anxiety, she was able to enjoy herself at the aftershow. "I kind of got the sad part out of the way," she said. "It's like getting to see old friends. It's like a reunion for me.

"I think it's sad, but I think they had a great run," LC added. "They went on for so long. I think it's nice they wrapped up everyone's story. It was a happy ending."

Then again, for Lauren, Tuesday was more of an epilogue than a finale. "I didn't watch this season. For me, my last episode was the last episode. I left and I loved where it ended. They went on and did a new season. I kind of liked my ending."
