Earlier this year, in an interview with British GQ, White described a track he was working on with Jay-Z as "incredible."
"I played him something that I've been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it," White told the magazine. "It's unbelievable-sounding."
And last year, Jay-Z told Los Angeles radio jock Big Boy that he and White had worked on a number together, confirming the title as "Ray-Bans."
Now, however, pictures of the Brooklyn MC and the Dead Weather frontman in the studio are further proof that the two gifted artists have spent time together working on music and, perhaps, finalizing the aforementioned track. Among the set of black-and-white images, 10 in all, are also photos showing Beyoncé laughing it up with Jay and White, and a seated Amy Winehouse smiling at the rapper and rocker.
Last year, Jay-Z told MTV News his next album, following The Blueprint 3, would be more experimental; the comment came on the heels of his attending a show featuring indie rock band Grizzy Bear in Brooklyn's Williamsburg section.
"My next album, which I'm working on now — that's exclusive, no one knows that — is gonna be the album that really ... it's not gonna be a #1 album," the iconic lyricist said, describing the direction he plans to take. "That's where I'm at right now. I wanna make the most experimental album I ever made."
In July, Jay-Z, along with Eminem, will headline Ireland's Oxegen Festival, which is also set to include performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Vampire Weekend, Empire of the Sun, Muse and John Mayer. Jay and Em are also teaming up for shows in baseball stadiums in New York and Detroit in September, and Jay will also appear at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee on June 12.
