LMFAO's Sky Blu came off more like a party crasher than a party rocker earlier this week, when he and former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney got into an alleged scuffle in an airplane before it took off for Los Angeles from Vancouver.
But he and partner Redfoo are usually more festive fellas.
The production duo and "I'm in Miami Trick" performers are currently on tour opening for the Black Eyes Peas, along with Ludacris after recently wrapping up their own headlining trek.
Sly Blu called the Peas kindred spirits when it comes to partying.
"They're party animals like us," he told MTV News. "First, you got the show, then we got the afterparty. And any given night there's three afterparties. [Will.I.Am] got one ... and us, so sometimes we hit them all. And then after that, [the Peas] got something else. They got the Boom Boom Room. Not like their song, it's the boom, boom, let's do it, where they always DJ at their hotels."
The duo are signed to Will.I.Am's label. "The thing with Will and [BEP's Apl.de.Ap], they always DJ," Redfoo said. "They're the most musical people in the world."
Despite plenty of late nights on tour, the Peas haven't passed on any bad habits to the LMFAO guys. In fact, the younger group has followed the Grammy-winning act's lead by bringing a staff on tour so they can conduct business and work on the follow-up to their breakout debut, Party Rock.
"[BEP] got a studio bus, and [now] we have two buses, so we've been working on our album the whole time," Redfoo said. "We brought like seven staff members. Some of them have nothing to do with the tour — the graphic artist guy is developing our next line. It's like an office for us. We can't just do a show and sit back and chill out. We have to always be working."
