Even veterans like Celine Dion couldn't help but be overtaken by the talent in the room. "For me, it's always an amazing opportunity to work with amazing people that I admire a lot," she said. "I was working with Lionel Richie, and I was beside Quincy Jones, and even though I've been doing this work for a long, long time, I'm still extremely impressed."
"I think we all turned into groupies," R&B singer Anthony Hamilton added. "Everybody had a camera out and was filming. I think even Tony Bennett probably had a handheld and was like, 'Oh my God, Lil Wayne.' "
"American Idol" judge Randy Jackson noted that the gathering proved that when times are tough, people will always work together. "It makes me proud for the human spirit, for us to come together in a time when we need to help people," he said. "I think this is a great moment in time, and I wasn't going to miss it for anything."
