The cast of MTV's hit "Jersey Shore," which includes breakout stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, admit that since the show debuted earlier this month, they've become instant celebrities. They're now recognized everywhere they go, and they're still overwhelmed by the attention.
"Life is pretty wild right now," the Situation told MTV News. "We're enjoying every minute of it and everyday that we speak — 'cause we're actually very, very good friends in person — we call each other and say, 'Hey, what's going on right now.' And she's like, 'It's crazy.' And then the next day it gets crazier."
Snooki, who describes the Situation as "my boy," is surprised by how often they're recognized, whether it's on a trip to the mall or a trip to the West Coast. "I was just sitting on the couch at my dad's house and I was like, 'What is going on?' " she said. "Like, all these people want us to come to L.A. I called [the Situation], he was at the mall and all these people were screaming his name. He's like, 'Oh my God! What's going on?' "
The Situation said that it isn't just at Jersey Shore hotspot Karma that people want to party with them — it seems these days wherever they go, the party follows. "You know what? It's pretty funny. You know what, we rolled up in L.A. and we had no idea what was about to happen," he said. "We rolled up to the clubs and people almost chase us. We're like, 'Wow, is this really happening?' "
