A little over three weeks ago, no one knew who they were. Now MTV's "Jersey Shore" stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino are being whisked out to L.A. to appear on "The Tonight Show," hobnobbing with the glitterati at only-VIPs-need-apply clubs and watching with stunned approval as their nicknames have entered the pop-culture lexicon.

As Snooki and the Situation explained when they stopped by the MTV News offices, celebs have been raving about the show. Who? Ashton Kutcher, for one.

"He told me he never watched TV, he never even watches his own show, 'That '70s Show,' but he was like, 'I watch your show,' " Snooki said. "He's like, 'You guys are freakin' awesome. I'm a big fan.' "

Another "Shore" aficionado may be Iron Mike's better half. "Didn't Mike Tyson say his wife loved the show?" the Situation wondered aloud.

Fellow MTV star Kristin Cavallari is apparently a devotee of the show — and one castmember in particular. "We met Kristin from 'The Hills' over the weekend and she said she loves the show," the Situation said. "She said she loves the Situation."

The "Shore" kids were also supposed to meet the Kardashian clan while they were in LA. "Kim Kardashian wanted to meet us — all of them did," Snookie said. "But Kourtney had her baby, so it didn't work out."

"The Situation had no part in that situation," he laughed.
