Call it island fever. It's what happens when celebrities and journalists gather on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to talk movies and consume fruity cocktails with little umbrellas sticking out of them. It's what happens when everyone stops being polite and possibly starts nursing hangovers: hilariously random interviews.

A couple of weeks ago, MTV News traveled to Bora Bora with Vince Vaughn and the cast of "Couples Retreat," and, well, wackiness ensued. Vaughn and Malin Akerman — who star as one of four couples on the island for some serious R&R and relationship counseling — spoke at length about getting nearly naked in front of the camera. Co-stars Kristin Davis and Jon Favreau waded into a conversation about "pooping" on- and off-screen.

And when it came to Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell — yeah, there was a whole lot of funkiness going on there. Our interview with these two Hollywooders ping-ponged amusingly from the outlandish to the borderline inappropriate. It was so much fun, in fact, that we thought we'd bring you some of their outré outtakes, starting with the very beginning of our interview, when the actors engaged in a little pre-talk play-fighting.

MTV: What's happening, come on! This is a two-on-one. Ooh, that sounded bad.

Kristen Bell: Sounds like my dream come true. Geez!

MTV: The true mark of a great couple — how well do you know each other?

Jason Bateman: We don't have sex. But everything up until that, we do really, really well.

Bell: Up until insertion, I'd say.

Bateman: Everyone's got their price. She'll do anything for the right amount of money. Ask [director] Peter Billingsley.

Bell: I'm here doing an interview. Would anyone like to talk about this film, or would you two like to go make out?

MTV: Oh, my god!

Bell: Sorry, I have to draw really clear boundaries with him.

MTV: Why was I just pulled into it?

Bell: Because you have a penis, and there's a lot of testosterone here.

MTV: You don't know anything about my body.

Bateman: My torso gives you a great laugh. If you want a bigger one, drop the trousers, I guess. When I say bigger one, I mean bigger laugh. Oh, god.

MTV: There are surgeries for that kind of thing.

Bateman: And pumps.
