She may be facing plenty of drama on "The Hills," but Kristin Cavallari thinks that her second stint on reality TV has been a lot less personal than her time on "Laguna Beach." Back then, she had no idea what having a camera follow you around would lead to. Now, she knows how to work it to her advantage, and how to make everyone squirm.

" 'Laguna' was different, because none of us really knew what we were doing and we all were just kind of doing it together and experiencing it together," Cavallari told MTV News. "We had no idea what it would turn into. But with 'The Hills,' coming back into [TV], I knew what I was getting myself into."

This time around, the transition is also a lot easier because though she is friends with her fellow "Hills" stars, she's not as close with them as she was with her friends on "Laguna Beach." So, when there's a conflict, like there was back in her high school days between her and Lauren Conrad over Stephen Colletti, it really doesn't hurt as much. And now it's a lot easier to mack on her co-stars' ex-boyfriends. (Yes, Justin Bobby, we're talking about you.)

"Everyone on the show isn't necessarily my core group of friends, so when I see people talking smack about me, I'm not that upset about it, because they're not really my good girlfriends," she said. "On 'Laguna Beach,' you really did get affected by it."

Catch the next episode of "The Hills" on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
