It's going to be the ultimate girl fight come Sunday at the Video Music Awards, when Beyoncé goes head-to-head against Lady Gaga. Each has nine nominations, and they're both set to take the stage live when the show makes its way back to New York City.
But the real question on everyone's mind is: Who will be the best dressed? Sure, both divas are known for their unique styles, but only one can reign supreme as the night's ultimate fashion queen. Beyoncé has experience on her side, but Gaga's sometimes-kooky style could steal the show.
MTV News caught up with Us Weekly fashion director Sasha Charnin Morrison and Elle creative director Joe Zee to see who they think will have it all sewn up on Sunday. Both fashion experts seem to be going for Gaga.
"I love Beyoncé," Zee said. "But I think my vote goes to Gaga. I think she's daring. She's unpredictable, and at the end of the day, fashion is unpredictable."
Charnin cited Gaga's ability to influence the masses that makes her stand out. "I think she's highly inspirational for so many people," she explained. "She's got a new look, new sound, and it seems like something that would be so influential, [and it] makes you think."
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards air live this Sunday, September 13, at 9 p.m. ET, but New York is celebrating the VMAs all week long! Stay tuned for party coverage, concert reports, behind-the-scenes updates and more.
