During an interview Tuesday with New York radio host Ed Lover, Jay-Z claimed he was very adept at sports. Does that include boxing? Because champion pugilist Andre Berto told MTV News he wouldn't mind dancing in the squared circle with the MC. Berto said he's already sparred with Hov's onetime best friend and business partner Dame Dash.

"I been knowing Jay and Dame for a long time," he said. "They're pretty sharp. I probably would like to get Jay in the ring. I've been hearing stories that his left hook is all right. I already tested Dame out. I want to test Jay out now."

So how was Berto's dance with Dash? "Everything was good," the boxer recalled with a laugh. "He showed what he had. I didn't go all out. I didn't believe him. First off, I didn't believe he could mess with a boxer like that. But he is all right. We even put him in there with another kid, and Dame did this thing."

While Berto vs. Jay-Z at Madison Square Garden might be far-fetched, Berto is quite serious about a bout with NFL Pro Bowler Chad Ochocinco (formerly known as Chad Johnson). The outspoken Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been calling out Berto on HBO and Twitter. "It's been a nonstop situation between me and this crazy dude," Berto said of Ochocinco.

The two are actually cool, but both want to prove a competitive point. "That's my man, but we've been going back and forth," the welterweight champ said. "For some reason, he says he's the best at every sport. He wants to call out who he feels is the best young talent. Last week, after one of his games, he called me out after the interview. So we gonna have to get it in. Probably after the season. I know he's not gonna make the playoffs, so we'll get it in then."

Berto, who is also negotiating a December face-off against "Sugar" Shane Mosley, said his fight with Ochocinco would be in headgear — but that doesn't mean he'd pull his punches against the football star.

"I'mma go ahead and smash him out real quick," he said. "Make it for charity or something. Beat him for the kids. I'm gonna make an example out of him. There's a lot of football and basketball players that think they can step into the ring, for some reason. I think it's a perfect opportunity to make an example out of him, let them know it's a whole different world stepping between these ropes. [Chad] wants to get his a-- smashed for some reason. I'mma have to change his name to 'No Mas.' "

Despite his desire to square off with Jay-Z, Berto actually is a huge fan of Young Hov's and Young Jeezy's. to see what other rappers he listens to, check out Mixtape Daily.
