UNIVERSAL CITY, California — It was an A-list night at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards as the big names — hosts the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears, to name a few — brought star wattage and unique style to the red carpet in front of the Gibson Amphitheatre.

The fellas kept it relaxed. The JoBros, hosts and nominees, all opted for a jacket and dress pants, but each look varied slightly. Kevin donned an all-black look as Joe kept it slightly "Miami Vice"-esque with his neon T-shirt. Meanwhile, Nick added a dash of color in a different way, opting for a beige blazer. The youngest "Bonus" Jonas, Frankie, kept the blazer look going by pairing his with jeans.

Fellow heartthrob RPattz wore a shiny suit jacket with a flannel-style button-down and gray jeans, topped with his signature tousled hair. His "New Moon" co-star Taylor Lautner also wore gray jeans, but matched them with a gray vest, striped tie and white button-down shirt.

Lautner and "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford came dangerously close to showing up in the same outfit, but Crawford's jeans were slightly darker and his vest and button-down were blue. And not to be outdone by the guy who took his role in "Footloose," Zac Efron looked sleek and laid-back in his plaid top, jeans and sneakers.

The ladies, however, embraced edgier looks. Last year's host, Miley Cyrus, wore a sparkly, super-short black miniskirt with a plain white tank top, studded belt and an array of necklaces that mid-'80s Madonna would have been proud of.

Kristen Stewart also joined the black-and-white club, rocking a black romper-style dress with metal detailing over a plain white tank. Fellow "Twilight" lass, Nikki Reed, went in a completely different direction wearing a feminine peach-colored dress.

Ashley Tisdale also went edgy, pairing her strapless black-and-purple dress with studded peep-toe shoes. Purple seemed to be the choice color of the ladies — Vanessa Hudgens also wore it, although hers was of a royal shade and cut a softer silhouette. Miley's BFF, Selena Gomez, wore a soft violet one-shoulder dress and "The Hills" star Audrina Patridge kept the purple love alive in strapless, rouched minidress.

However, the most-anticipated arrival of the night had to be Britney Spears, who wore her blond hair long and straight and went for the classic little black dress — changing up the classic just a bit with sparkly fabric and asymmetrical design.

The Teen Choice Awards air Monday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET on Fox.
