Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' child, suffered mild brain trauma early Sunday morning when the truck he was driving crashed and flipped on a Louisiana highway, ejecting Aldridge and two of his four passengers.

According to TMZ, at around 1:30 a.m. Aldridge had veered off the road into a ditch and then overcorrected when swerving back onto the road, causing the 2008 Ford F-250 truck to roll.

The site reported that the other two unidentified passengers who were thrown from the car refused medical treatment at the scene, while Aldridge was taken to nearby Riverside Medical Center in Ferriday, Louisiana, for what police deemed "moderate injuries." Among the other injuries the passengers reportedly suffered were a broken collarbone for one, a possible hip injury for another and some mild bruising for a third. E! News reported that all four passengers were male.

Aldridge, 19, was charged with a misdemeanor count of careless operation of a motor vehicle. Police reportedly had to wait more than four hours after the crash to speak to him, due to his hospitalization, but a trooper told E! that they had no reason to suspect that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

TMZ also reported that Aldridge did not have surgery, but an unidentified family member said he suffered mild brain trauma and a "skull fracture around his hairline" that will require several days of hospitalization in the intensive-care unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, where he has been transferred.

Girlfriend Jamie Lynn Spears, 18, mother of their 10-month old daughter, Maddie Briann, is reportedly by Aldridge's side as he recuperates, as are his mother, father and sister, according to a People magazine report. An unidentified family source told the magazine that Aldridge is alert and talking to friends and family and that doctors are confident he will recover fully.

The magazine, citing another unidentified source, reported that Aldridge was attending a bachelor party for his cousin before the accident when he and some friends decided to go crabbing at a popular local fishing hole.
