Three years ago, Heidi Montag met Spencer Pratt and television history was made. Friendships were broken, families felt betrayed and two kids fell in love. It was 2006 when, fresh off a breakup with a guy named Jordan, Heidi found Spencer.
At the time, Heidi was living with her then-best friend and "Hills" star Lauren Conrad. But when Heidi and Spencer initially started dating, he wasn't always the best boyfriend in the world — he was seen out and about with other girls, including Heidi's friend Audrina Patridge.
At one point, Heidi had a pregnancy scare. Sometime shortly after that, Heidi and Spencer decided to go exclusive with their relationship. "I couldn't be happier right now," he once told his future bride. Spencer's claim that he had a sex tape of LC and her ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler put the nail in the coffin of Lauren and Heidi's friendship soon after.
Then one day, on a beach in Santa Barbara, California, in May 2007, Spencer decided to take the plunge and ask Heidi to marry him. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you," he said. That's when things got really interesting between the couple better known as Speidi. But Spencer and Heidi always seemed to have a lot of heat in their relationship and sometimes that heat manifested itself into breakups.
After just months of living together, they broke off the engagement later that year. Heidi told Spence to move out as she gave him back the ring.
Well, he came back, and the duo once again decided to go forth with their plans to marry. The couple then eloped in Mexico where Spencer told Heidi, "It's a secret Mexican wedding. It's for us." Upon returning home, the couple wanted to make it official but when they got to the courthouse, they postponed their wedding in lieu of a bigger ceremony — like the one that took place on Saturday (April 25).
But before Saturday's big ceremony, the couple were once again plagued with problems, such as Spencer possibly cheating on Heidi with a bartender, causing the duo to see a therapist. Now it seems they've worked out their problems, and finally got that big wedding Heidi always wanted.
