With the release of Zac Efron's
Lucas Grabeel may have turned in his "High School Musical" dancing shoes when he took the role of Danny Nicoletta in the Oscar-winning film
"It's basically just the story of a white kid raised in an Asian family," he told MTV News. "[He] wants to eventually avenge his sensei's death by traveling to Hollywood to kill [the] evil [villain], played by David Hasselhoff."
You heard correctly — for the flick, Grabeel is facing off with the Hoff, but he saw no reason to hassle him. In fact, the two got along just fine. "He's such a great guy. He's so nice," Grabeel said about the former "Baywatch" star. "And he just is really out there and just really passionate about his work and his life and everything. He's a very interesting guy to talk to. I mean, he's been around for so long and has had so much experience on television."
Grabeel, who previously told us about his passion for making short films, is also hard at work on some new music and hopes to have it out in the near future. "I'm also working on some new stuff for the 'Ninja' movie and also just other stuff to bank," he said. "I have a whole bunch of songs in the library."
Like his other "HSM" co-stars who have put out albums, Grabeel doesn't want to let his passion for music go just because he's making movies. "I've been working a lot on it," he said. "It's really fun. I love music. It's always got to be there."
