On Wednesday (March 11), TMZ reported that DJ AM — who, along with Travis Barker, escaped a deadly plane crash back in September — narrowly avoided a second incident last month, when he canceled his reservation on Continental Airlines Flight 3407, which crashed outside Buffalo, New York, killing all passengers aboard.

Quoting a Chicago club promoter, the Web site wrote that AM was booked on the Continental flight but canceled at the last minute because he "had a bad feeling about it," opting to drive to the gig instead. They added that AM now swears that his flying days are over and that "he will only book gigs if he can drive to them."

It was a rather startling bit of news, but it wasn't true.

MTV News reached out to AM's publicist for confirmation on the story, which she vehemently denied, writing in an e-mail: "[It's] not true. That came from a misguided club promoter who has no idea what's going on and clearly has the wrong facts. AM was not booked on that flight; he was performing in NYC that evening."

AM was, in fact, performing on the night of February 12, when the Continental flight crashed, at New York's M2 Ultra Lounge.

In the hours since its initial report, TMZ has added an addendum to the AM story, writing that his publicist denied the report and adding that AM still flies to gigs, though "he has tremendously scaled back his East Coast residencies to focus on his recovery."
