Over the last decade,
Timberlake, who showed his William Rast collection Monday during Fashion Week in New York, told the magazine that his style icon is British supermodel Kate Moss because she "could put a barrel on and it would be some sort of statement."
He said that he learned his snappy way of dressing — fedoras, sweater vests, three-piece suits and all — from his banker dad. "When he worked at the bank, he looked like Richard Gere in '[American] Gigolo,' " Timberlake said. "And he would do it all the night before, laying out the suit he'd wear the next day. Even on weekends, if he had to go into the office, he'd wear a trouser pant with a V-neck sweater and tie. And I was like, 'I want to dress like that!' He was just so cool."
The singer and fashion icon also shared his rules for looking stylish. They include: "If you're going to do something, do it right," and the always important "Never — and we mean never — dress yourself around a hat."
