They sold more albums than anyone else in 2008, so it only seems natural that Lil Wayne and Coldplay lead the pack of nominees at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards.

Wayne whose Tha Carter III had the biggest opening-week sales of last year, leads the pack with a total of eight nominations, while Coldplay's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, garnered seven nods. Both are vying for the night's top honor, Album of the Year. Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each earned six nods, while Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Robert Plant, Radiohead and Jazmine Sullivan received five each. Adele is up for four — including Best New Artist — as are Lupe Fiasco and T.I.
