When she showed up, she owned the red carpet, and everyone after couldn't live up to the hype. She became the night's belle of the ball. (For a by-the-minute recap of the fabulous and faulty fashions, check out our Golden Globes red-carpet blog.)
The way the ends of the skirt laid on the carpet made it look almost feathery and ethereal. Amy chose to pair the dress with just a pair of earrings and her hair done up loosely, but not messy — a distinction that many movie stars forget to make when it comes to this type of hairstyle. Any jewelry more than the earrings could have taken away from the dress' innate glamour. Diamonds are usually a girl's best friend, but not in this case.
Amy wasn't wearing a lot of makeup, either. In fact, it looked like she wasn't wearing any. Perhaps she made this choice because she wanted to let the dress speak for itself. A dress like that has a lot to say — like "I am fabulous!" — and yes, it was.
