The jury in the R. Kelly child-pornography trial began to deliberate at about 2:30 p.m. CT. after hearing closing arguments.
Kelly stands accused of child pornography, stemming from a videotape that was delivered to the Chicago Sun-Times in February of 2002 in which he is allegedly seen engaged in sexual acts with a then-underage girlthen-underage girl. The case took some six years to come to trial but has proceeded relatively quickly since jury selection began on May 9. (Head here for a thorough timeline of events surrounding the trial.) Kelly's fate is now in the jury's hands — MTV News will have an update on today's events shortly, and we'll be following the trial closely as events unfold.
