Alison Krauss & Union Station received 11 nominations to emerge as the frontrunners at this year's International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards. The nominations were announced Tuesday morning (Aug. 15) during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.
Krauss and longtime band member Dan Tyminski are nominated in the female and male vocalist categories, and the group's total also includes individual nominations for bassist Barry Bales, banjo player Ron Block and Dobro player Jerry Douglas.
Blue Highway and its Dobro player, Rob Ickes, pulled in a total of 10 nominations. Seven nominations went to the members of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder.
Marty Stuart will host this year's awards show taking place Sept. 28 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
