It would almost be more newsworthy if the Dave Matthews Band decided that this year they'd go ahead and take the summer off. But of course, DMB are all about the love and will once again be spending the summer crisscrossing the U.S. of A.

It's become something of an annual tradition for fans. Like backyard barbecues, mosquito bites, baseball and sunburns, a DMB tour is almost synonymous with summertime — basically because the band's consistently toured, summer after summer, since 1998. And why should this summer be any different?

On Wednesday (March 1) DMB rolled out a tour itinerary that has them kicking things off May 30 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The 49-show tour wraps up September 23 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Tickets for most shows go on sale April 8; G. Love & Special Sauce, Matisyahu, ALO, O.A.R., Gomez, Umphrey's McGee, Gov't Mule, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, and Pat Green have been tapped to open on various dates.

Last year, the Dave Matthews Band pulled in more than $45 million from touring in support of Stand Up, which has sold 1,356,000 copies.
