Electronic rock combo Junkie XL were recently forced to cancel a string of European tour dates following an onstage accident involving leader Tom Holkenborg. The frenetic musical mastermind / programmer of the Dutch group took a tumble onstage at Conrad Sohm in Dornbirn, Austria, on April 25 and injured his back, according to the band's U.S. publicist, Jamie Roberts. "He had a little 'accident,' falling between the stage and his equipment," Roberts said. The injury, which is expected to keep Holkenborg off his feet for up to three weeks, resulted in the cancellation of three dates in the Netherlands and two upcoming shows in Spain. The band will attempt to return to the road in support of their recently released debut, Saturday Teenage Kick, on May 12 with a show at the Army & Navy club in Chelmsford, England. The group will return to the U.S. beginning June 3 for a tour with the industrial rock acts Gravity Kills and Pitchshifter.
