On her new single, "Conceited (There's Something About Remy)," Remy Ma raps about looking too good to do a lot of things — but she doesn't look too good to give back to her community.

On Wednesday (November 23) in her home neighborhood — Castle Hill in New York's Bronx borough — Rem is holding a turkey giveaway at the Jessica Guzman Medical Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"It feels good to give to anybody," Remy — who, of course, is also known as Remy Martin — said Tuesday night about the giveaway. "It feels especially [good] when you give to people you know can't afford it. I'm a very giving person and to give to people you don't even know — help someone out with that $20 or $30 they would have to spend on a turkey — that alone feels good. I'm thankful for what I have and I give what I can."

After the turkey giveaway, Rem says she's going to head across the street to a local music store and hand out her latest mixtape, Most Anticipated. The CD features some songs from her upcoming LP, There's Something About Remy, but it mostly contains freestyles.

"I used [the Purple Ribbon All-Stars'] 'Kryptonite' beat, the Pharrell ['Can I Have It Like That'] beat," Rem said of the mixtape. "I took all the hottest beats I like right now and I did 'em dirty — I Rem'ed them out! Then I have a few classic freestyles that I did over the past few months that people said is crazy but may not have gotten the right amount of exposure. I didn't even get nobody to host it — it's just me. For people who still don't believe in me, this is the understanding."

Rem's official album, There's Something About Remy, has been pushed back from a December release to February 7, but she says that's an ideal time.

"We changed [the date] because we needed more time," Remy said. "A lot of people was dropping [albums] in December and I need my album to be absorbed. Also, February 7 was the day that Pun passed away and we're gonna do this big thing on TV for him — without him, I wouldn't be here. He doesn't always get the recognition he deserves. What better time to do it, and who better to do it than me?"

Indeed, who better to direct her first video than her close friend, Diplomat capo Jim Jones? The two recently linked up in New York to shoot.

"Jim is like my brother," Remy said. "His mom is like my mother. She calls me every day and makes sure I'm good. So I was sitting there, looking through reels and reels looking for a director, and I said, 'Wait a minute, my brother shoots videos all day without a crazy budget' — a lot of these Dip Set videos come out of their own pockets. I know [Jones] knows what to do. I called him and was like, 'Yo, you gonna shoot my video?' He was like, 'For real? They ain't gonna let me shoot your video!' But we shot it and it was all good — the 'Conceited' joint is crazy."

And what exactly makes Remy's video so crazy?

"Nope, nope! I'm not telling you!" she said with a loud laugh. "Just think about everything you would be doing in a video [for a song that says,] 'I'm conceited, I got a reason.' What would you be doing?"
