Lindsay Lohan's father is in trouble with the law again.

Michael Lohan was arrested on Monday night for criminal contempt and driving while intoxicated when he allegedly violated an order of protection taken out by the actress' mother, Dina Lohan, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Lohan was arrested at 9:50 p.m. in North Merrick, New York, after he was seen by hired security guards pulling into the driveway of Dina's home twice on Monday night.

He was not forced to serve jail time after his arrest, as he complained of chest pains and shortness of breath while being taken to Nassau County Police Department headquarters for further investigation and arrest processing. He was brought to Winthrop-University Hospital and admitted for observation.

Lindsay's mother reportedly took out the order of protection against Michael when he allegedly threatened violence against his family.

Two weeks ago, Michael arrived at his son Dakota's soccer game on Long Island where Dina was also present. Michael allegedly chased after Lindsay when she arrived at the game.

Lohan is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in First District Court, Hempstead, once he is released from the hospital.

The singer/actress' father has faced other legal troubles in the past. In May, he allegedly beat brother-in-law Matthew Sullivan at a Communion party.
