Visitors to Sin City might complain of injury to their wallet or their conscience, but this past Saturday, two performers felt a more severe pain.
Celine Dion and Willie Nelson got some bad news in Las Vegas over the weekend when they learned they would have to cancel upcoming shows due to neck pain and carpal tunnel syndrome, respectively, according to The Associated Press.
Dion's heart will go on, but her regular gig at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace will be postponed for a few days, according to the AP. A doctor reportedly told Dion, who has been hindered by a sprained neck for the last week, that she needed to rest.
The French-Canadian singer canceled three performances of her nightly show, "A New Day ...," on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but will take the stage again on Saturday to continue the second year of her three-year stint at the hotel-casino.
The 71-year-old Nelson reportedly cut short his Saturday performance in Las Vegas due to severe pain from carpal tunnel syndrome. According to the AP, the country singer has canceled concerts for the next two months — including an appearance at the three-day Bonnaroo Music Festival in June (see "Dave Matthews, Maroon 5, 58 Other Acts To Play Bonnaroo") — to undergo surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome.
