Let's hope Ben and Jen have been videotaping their escapades for a reality show of epic proportions.

Three days after Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck announced that their scheduled wedding for this past Sunday was postponed indefinitely came reports that the couple's romance is kaput.

People magazine was first to report that Hollywood's hottest couple was no more, via their Web site. Affleck reportedly did the dumping because he got cold feet. Quoting unnamed sources close to Lopez, the story says J. Lo was "devastated" and "in tears" over the breakup.

A print version of the story will appear in the weekly magazine's next issue, which hits newsstands Friday.

The permanency of the split is still being debated, however. On Monday (September 15), wire service Reuters, speaking with anonymous Affleck sources, claimed that it's only a temporary layoff, and People ended its story by saying that it was unclear whether the breakup is for good. Nevertheless, Affleck reportedly called those close to him last week to inform them of the news, according to Reuters.

Since they weren't due at the altar on Sunday (see "Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Postpone Their Wedding"), citing excessive media attention, Lopez and Affleck went their separate ways for the weekend. Some tabloid reporters claimed to have spotted Affleck gambling and relaxing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casio in Las Vegas, perhaps there to take in the pro boxing bout between "Sugar" Shane Mosely and Oscar De La Hoya, though the People editor Peter Castro puts him in Los Angeles. Lopez, meanwhile, had reportedly jetted off to Miami and hit the nightclubs.

Before the celebratory rice is put away, however, some doubt remains. Witnesses told the New York Daily News that Lopez looked like she was having something of a final fling, similar to a bachelorette party, rather than a fresh-start fete.

Officially, Affleck's publicist declined to comment on his client's personal life, and a rep for Lopez didn't return calls by press time.
