Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis is about to "give it away now" like never before. He recently signed a deal with Hyperion Books to release his autobiography, entitled "Scar Tissue," in the fall of 2004.

According to a statement from his publisher, Kiedis will share "both the amazing highs and lows that he's packed into his first 40 years" in a detailed account of the moral and spiritual evolution of a Cali boy turned celebrated rock star.

The book promises to explore Kiedis' Hollywood childhood, his strange relationship with his father — with whom he sometimes shared both drugs and women — his brief career as a child actor on Sylvester Stallone's "F.I.S.T.," and his later struggle to make great music while battling a building drug addiction.

Larry "Ratso" Sloman, who collaborated with Howard Stern on his two best-sellers "Private Parts" and "Miss America," will assist Kiedis in writing the book.

Hyperion would not disclose how much Kiedis will be paid for the project.
