Actress, model and former college volleyball star Summer Altice is preparing to reveal another talent — singing.

"The Scorpion King" co-star is spending what little spare time she has in between interviews and photo shoots recording her debut album, which she hopes to release by the end of the year.

"It's kind of like a U.K. garage kind of beat, but Americanized," Altice said Saturday at the ESPN Action Sports and Music Awards. "Kind of like Craig David, but a girl."

Altice said she has been singing longer than she's been acting, modeling or spiking volleyballs. "I just kind of put it on hold because you can't really say no to great things happening," she said. "I've just kind of been patient with it."

The former Playboy centerfold said she's confident about her chances in the music biz and is taking solace in the fact that her manager has worked with D'Angelo and Color Me Badd. "Remember 'I Wanna Sex You Up'? You know everybody was grooving to that. I still love that song. So I'm in good hands."

Altice said she is also working on a series for Showtime, but she could not elaborate.
