First it was a rendition of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" and now a cover of the mighty Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" could Fred Durst be trading the dope rhymes of hip-hop for the deep sentiment of classic rock?
Not likely, though the Limp Bizkit frontman will perform "Thank You" at the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday, along with Puddle of Mudd singer/guitarist Wes Scantlin, according to an Interscope Records spokesperson.
Limp Bizkit is in contention for four Euro-Moonmen, including Best Group and Best Album. Gorillaz lead the pack of nominees with six nods (see "Gorillaz, Bizkit, U2 Nab Most Noms For MTV Europe Music Awards").
Durst and Goo Goo Dolls singer Johnny Rzeznik performed "Wish You Were Here" at the live network telethon "America: A Tribute to Heroes" in September (see "Mariah Carey, Springsteen, Other Stars Sing For America On Telethon"). That performance will be included on the America: A Tribute to Heroes CD and video coming out December 4 (see " 'Heroes' Performances From Bizkit, U2, Alicia Keys, More Coming To CD, Video").
