Lil' Mo said "no go" to a show in Springfield, Illinois, after paltry ticket sales left promoters unable to pay her $10,000 fee.

"The promoters all said 'You get so much love out here. No one ever comes here,' " the singer told the Associated Press after canceling the show Wednesday. "Then I get here, and I thought there was going to be at least 2,500 people here. There was only 175 people there. That's a dis."

While the singer placed the crowd at 175, Prairie Capital Convention Center manager Judith Meiron said fewer than 100 tickets were sold. Lil' Mo added that she didn't want to disappoint her fans, but business is business, the news service said.

Meiron said that ticketholders, who didn't find out about the cancellation until 9:15 p.m. after the opening act, received refunds.

"I think it's kind of bogus," 15-year-old fan Brittney Favors told the AP. "This is the best thing they've had for a while, and she cancels. We got all dressed up for nothing. She's letting down all her fans."
