Pop music's ultimate survivor, Michael Jackson, has recruited Destiny's Child for his star-studded 30th anniversary celebration.
The "Bootylicious" singers join a lineup that includes 'NSYNC, Britney Spears and Shaggy (see "Missy Elliott, Ricky Martin, Mary J. Blige Added To Michael Jackson Tribute").
Destiny's Child will perform a medley of their hits at the first of Jackson's two concerts, promoter David Gest said in a statement Wednesday (July 24). "Michael is a huge fan of the pop supergroup and is very excited that Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle will perform," Gest said.
A spokesperson for Destiny's Child did not return calls for comment.
Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration, the Solo Years is scheduled for September 7 and 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York and will mark Jackson's first U.S. performances in 11 years.
The Jacksons Michael, Tito, Marlon, Jackie and Randy are scheduled for reunion performances at both shows (see "Randy Says 'I'll Be There' For Jacksons Reunion, Jermaine Says 'Maybe Tomorrow'").
The concerts will be filmed for a two-hour television special that will air at a later date. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.
