Miami authorities have dropped the charges against Sean "P. Diddy" Combs for driving with a suspended license in April, and the rap mogul still plans to fight the remaining charge — which consists of a mere traffic violation.

His lawyer, Jayne Weintraub, said Friday that she will "pull out all the stops" to fight Combs' charge of illegally changing lanes while driving a scooter — which carries only a threat of points on his license.

Weintraub said she expects the charge to be dropped once a judge hears the facts.

Combs made a sudden lane change only because he was trying to get out of the way of several fans who recognized him and had begun running toward him, according to Weintraub. The charge of driving with a suspended license — dropped because Combs subsequently proved he did have a license at the time, Weintraub said — could have resulted in a fine or a brief stay in jail.

He is not required to appear in court to fight the ticket, and a new court date for the case will be set within a month, according to his lawyer.

Combs was acquitted of bribery and gun possession charges a month before the Miami traffic incident. Click HERE for coverage of the trial.
