When Staind perform their latest single, "It's Been Awhile," on tour this summer, they just might be referring to the last time they've been home.

The Springfield, Massachusetts, quartet will kick off a headlining trek Tuesday in Toronto, according to their publicist. Their second album, Break the Cycle, is due May 22.

The excursion is expected to keep the band on the road until the end of July, but dates for the outing were confirmed only through July 11 at press time. More shows are likely to be added, and fans can also expect Staind to appear at several radio festivals peppered throughout the tour.

Cold and Puddle of Mudd will keep the band company on the road, serving as tour openers. In April, Cold forfeited their slot on Ozzfest's second stage in favor of touring with their nü-metal brethren (see "Cold Plan To Swap Ozzfest For Staind").

"This year, the [Ozzfest] stages weren't rotating from main to second," Cold singer Scooter Ward said, "so we had a slot at three o'clock, and it was only [scheduled] for 25 minutes. [It came down to] 25 minutes in the afternoon or go out with Staind at nighttime and [play for] 55 minutes. And they're our friends, so we'd rather do that." A spokesperson for Ozzfest had said earlier that the Union Underground would play in the slot formerly occupied by Cold, however the spokesperson later said that set times for the bands have yet to be determined.

Staind will join Stone Temple Pilots, Live, Incubus and Deftones on August 4 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, for the second annual Rolling Rock Town Fair (see "STP, Live To Headline Rolling Rock Town Fair").
