Slowhand's touring pace isn't slowing down.
Eric Clapton has added 20 more dates to his North American tour (see "Eric Clapton Announces North American Tour Dates"), beginning with a newly announced third night at New York's Madison Square Garden on June 23. After that show, Clapton's schedule calls for a month off before he kicks off a string of Midwestern and Western shows on July 17 in St. Paul, Minn.
On March 13 the singer/guitarist released Reptile, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and currently sits at #31. In addition to new Clapton originals, the album includes covers of Stevie Wonder's "I Ain't Gonna Stand for It" and Ray Charles' "Come Back Baby."
Texas singer/guitarist Doyle Bramhall II and his band Smokestack will open all dates on the tour, according to a Reprise spokesperson.
