Spice Girl Melanie C will strike out on her own for her first-ever North American solo tour, starting March 29 in Calgary, Alberta.
Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm released her solo debut, Northern Star, in October, and made only a handful of solo appearances in support of it. The disc spawned the hit single "I Turn to You," which found dance club success with a Hex Hector remix.
That album made more of a splash than the Spice Girls' Forever, which came out a month later. Chisholm told a British talk show soon after that she had left the group, but she quickly retracted the statement and the Spice Girls' label issued a statement denying that she had split.
