Sean "P. Diddy" Combs was arrested and quickly released on charges of driving with a suspended license Saturday night in Miami Beach, Florida, the Associated Press reported.
Combs was driving a scooter when police pulled him over for allegedly making an illegal lane change, according to the AP. A computer check showed that Combs had a suspended license. He was arrested, and police released him 20 minutes later, after he signed a promise to return for a court appearance.
The charge, a misdemeanor, carries a possible sentence of a small fine or jail time.
Combs was acquitted last month of bribery and gun-possession charges in connection with a 1999 shooting at a New York nightclub.
Rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow was convicted of assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession in the same trial (see "Puffy Combs Acquitted; Shyne Guilty Of Assault, Gun Possession"). He's due in court on Monday (April 16) for sentencing, but the sentencing may be pushed back, a spokesperson for the Manhattan district attorney's office said.
